Community Plus is a non-profit dedicated to forming connections between residents in its neighbourhood of Den Haag. My work with Community Plus began early in 2024, starting off the redesigning the volunteer rulebook. I translated the Dutch text to English to welcome new volunteers, and came up with illustrations and patterns based on the text.
The design process started by dissecting the Community Plus logo into larger portions. I added a stroke and fill to various boxes for a bit of variety. The final step was adding hand drawn illustrations and images from the Community Plus photo bank. I accentuated these with some more hand drawn waves.
For the cover, I created a pattern from the logo blocks. This process was very fun, and translating the contents of the rulebook gave me a newfound confidence in my Dutch literacy!
