The Zinnig Zomer Festival is an annual festival created and hosted by Mosterd. Each year, we invite Groningen’s social initiatives to join us on the lawn of the Nieuwe Kerk, surrounding us with music, workshops, and delicious food. It’s an amazing opportunity to really see the city’s social fabric and to interact with it.
For the 2025 edition, I created a separate brand identity using my hand-illustrated mustard flowers. I wanted the feeling of summer to come across without relying on typical “sunny” imagery, so I used soft blue skies and sun-kissed mustard flowers to create a warm, summery atmosphere in a more subtle way.

ZZF Save the date

Due to the rainy weather predictions, we had to move the festival inside the church-  which ended up creating the perfect, cosy atmosphere for all our stalls and workshops. With my social media campaign, ads, and consistent brand imagery and promotion, we reached over 60,000 views in just two weeks.

Despite the severe rain, this resulted in an incredible turnout of 200+ attendees from diverse backgrounds. The campaign and my ads alone also grew our Instagram following by nearly 100 new followers in that same
two-week period.
During the ZZF, I was also invited to facilitate a creative workshop. I brought a white tablecloth with me and, together with the festival attendees, we created a collaborative artwork. We drew, painted, and lino-printed, using relief textures like leaves and branches to add more layers to the piece. Check out how it turned out!
