The Zinnig Zomer Festival is an annual small scale festival created and hosted by Mosterd.
Each year, we invite Groningen’s social initiatives to join us on the lawn of the Nieuwe Kerk, surrounding us with music, workshops, and delicious food. It’s an amazing opportunity to really see the city’s social fabric and to interact with it.
For our 2026 edition, I played around with hand illustrated flowers. Last year's imagery played a big part in this year too, as it was deeply appreciated and loved by the community. I kept with our house colours- orange, yellow and beige, and heavily relied on our new colour, blue. This year I enjoyed playing with cutouts and hand drawn details.

Our wishes for good weather were fulfilled and we enjoyed a sunny day on the lawn of the Nieuwe Kerk. 
With my social media campaign, ads, and consistent brand imagery and promotion, we reached over 80,000 views over the span of the campaign, from which only 23% were from ads.
Our following grew by 25% during the campaign, but the real impact was proof at the festival, where we had 200+ attendees.

Alongside my work as the festival’s social media designer and marketer, I also stepped into the role of programme manager. After all, what’s the point of knowing and connecting with so many inspiring social initiatives if I don’t invite them into the spaces I help create?
Seeing these initiatives connect and create small moments of impact together was one of the most rewarding parts of the whole experience.
